COMPETITION INFORMATION and PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
Purpose..
To raise awareness about the ancient city of Jerusalem, which has been under Israeli occupation since 1967. To mobilize the international public opinion by drawing attention to the discriminatory policies systematically implemented by the occupying state on approximately 400 thousand Muslims living in Jerusalem and the restrictions on freedom of worship implemented specifically in the Al-Aqsa Mosque. To bring awareness of cultural heritage in the context of Jerusalem, the importance of cultural heritage in social life, awareness of social responsibility within the framework of cultural heritage, the contribution of the city of Jerusalem to cultural heritage and the importance of the city of Jerusalem in our cultural life to the agenda through concepts and topics.
Subject: "Free Jerusalem"
Under the main title "Our Heritage Jerusalem", cartoonists are expected to handle concepts and issues related to the city of Jerusalem such as human rights, justice, freedom, love, culture, social life, social responsibility, peace, and city life with cartoons from an enriching perspective.
- Our Heritage Jerusalem International Cartoon Contest is organized annually by the Our Heritage Association in Istanbul, Turkey.
- The Selection Committee and jury members will meet on December 14-15, 2024.
- The award ceremony of the Our Heritage Jerusalem International Cartoon Contest will be held in Istanbul between January-February 2025.
1. Subject: "Free Jerusalem"
2. The competition is open to professional and amateur cartoonists from all countries. (There is no age limit.)
3. More than one cartoon can be sent to the competition related to the subject. (There is no limit on the number of works.)
4. The work sent to the competition must not have won an award in any competition before.
5. The drawing technique is free. (Digital drawings can also be sent to the competition.) Artificial intelligence-generated drawings will be excluded from evaluation.
6. To pre-register for the competition, participants fill out the participation form on the websites kuduscartoon.com, jerusalemcartoon.com and mirasimiz.org.tr. They send their work(s) along with the participation form in Jpeg format, maximum 200 dpi, not exceeding 5 MB for each work, to kuduscartoon@gmail.com and jerusalemcartoon@gmail.com by e-mail.
7. Participants who pre-register for the competition will send the original of their work(s) together with the wet-signed participation form by mail or cargo

Important NOTE: Those who do not send their original work will be disqualified.
8. The original of the work to be sent is at least A4 (21cm x 29.7cm), at most A3 (29.7cm x 42cm)
9. Works missing the participation form, photograph, wet signature, etc. will be disqualified.
10. Mirasımız Association is not responsible for damage to the work in the mail.
11. Works participating in the competition will not be returned.
12. The work(s) that the participant will participate in the competition must be in accordance with Articles 21-25 of the Turkish Intellectual and Artistic Works Law No. 5846. He/she hereby accepts and declares in advance that he/she has exclusively licensed and transferred to Mirasımız Association the usage rights of the financial rights of processing, duplication, distribution, representation and transmission to the public through means used in signal, sound and/or image transmission defined in the provisions of the article, including the rights to transfer these to third parties, without any restriction on location, duration and number, that he/she consents to Mirasımız Association using the said work(s) in any way it wishes, including by exhibiting them, keeping them in its archives, publishing them on the internet and in other ways, and that he/she no longer has the authority to dispose of the financial rights in question, and therefore, that he/she will not enter into transactions with third parties regarding the transferred financial rights.
13. Participants in the competition must not have any travel restrictions.
14. All award-winning participants will be covered by the Mirasımız Association for travel and accommodation expenses to the award ceremony.
15. The last date to participate in the competition is Friday, November 29, 2024.
16. Jury members and their first-degree relatives cannot participate in the competition that year.
17. The authority to decide on the inclusion of cartoons sent to the competition on the website belongs to the Mirasımız Association.
18. The organizing committee has the authority to cancel the awards if similar cartoons are found to the award-winning cartoons.
19. If one or more of the names specified in the jury cannot participate due to force majeure, the organizing committee has the right to change the names in the jury.
