TOPIC
"CELEBRATION on a desert island"
(birth, birthday, anniversary, wedding, holidays, New Year's...).
- We are celebrating the coming of age of an exceptional manifestation: OSCARfest in Osor.
- What else can be celebrated, and is it even possible to celebrate something on a desert island? Peace? Perseverance? Boredom? Solitude? Confusion before life?
- The rights you get as you come of age? Voting? Driver's license? Marriage?
- What does it mean to deliver a cake to a desert island? A Trojan horse? A mob that pops out of a cake? Hospitality? Laughing at a prank? The joy of survival? Unity?
- Does coming of age also mean taking responsibility for the world's problems.
- Coming of age also brings Weltschmerz (world-pain). Let's not let our celebration end in tears.
- We celebrate the strongest medicine against stupidity and injustice – CARICATURE.
- Universal and without words. Everywhere. We celebrate humanity!

1st SELECTION
- Exhibition selector MSc. Branka Hlevnjak, art historian and art critic (Croatia 🇭🇷).
- Selects one cartoon from each registered author according to the criteria: topic, originality of the idea, artistic quality, default paper formats, completed Application form, deadline.
2nd SELECTION
- First place authors at the 17th OSCARfest 2025:
Mladen Oljača (Serbia 🇷🇸), Tao Liu LT (China 🇨🇳), Tin Horvat (Croatia 🇭🇷), Branka Hlevnjak - commission president, Dragutin Dado Kovačević - OSCARfest Program leader, Zdenko Puhin - Croatian Cartoonists Association.
- Select a maximum of 200 cartoons for the exhibition.
- Selectors automatically participate in the competition.
JURY
INTERNATIONAL JURY OF VISITORS
Exhibition visitors choose the 3 best cartoons by secret vote (1st = 3 points, 2nd = 2 points, 3rd = 1 point).
CATALOG
- All participants shall be sent the results and a digital catalogue via email.
- Confirmation of participation will be sent on request.
PRIZES
First, Second, Third place and First-ranked Croatian cartoonist:
Personal exhibition at the 19th OSCARfest 2027, Diploma, sponsorship awards, and the position of selector of the 19th OSCARfest 2027.
OTHER RULES
The submitted works remain at the disposal of the organizer who may use them for promotional and other non-commercial purposes (awards for voters, sponsors and donors...) with the name of the author and the festival without royalties to the authors, and continue to exhibit them.
