10TH INTERNATIONAL ALANYA CARTOON COMPETITION RULES

1. The theme of the competition is “Caravan” and contestants may interpret this theme freely.

2. The competition is open to cartoonists from all over the world. However, employees of Alanya Municipality and ALTAV, the organizers of the competition, as well as their relatives, are not eligible to participate.

3. Cartoons submitted to the competition may have been previously published in any medium; however, they must not have received an award in any other competition.

4. Each contestant may submit a maximum of five (5) cartoons.

5. Contestants may apply to the competition only digitally via the official website https://ulakbel.alanya.bel.tr/WebBasvuru/10cartoon#

until the final submission deadline of 01 April 2026. Submitted cartoons must be in A4 size, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, and in JPEG format. All required fields on the application form must be fully and accurately completed. The competition jury shall not be held responsible for submissions that do not meet the specified technical requirements, files that cannot be opened, or applications containing incomplete or incorrect information.

6. Cartoons identified as having been produced using artificial intelligence will be disqualified. If it is later determined that an awarded cartoon was AI-generated, the award will be deemed invalid.

7. Following the jury’s evaluation, the competition results and details of the award ceremony will be announced on 20 April 2026 at www.altav.org.tr and www.alanya.bel.tr.

8. Cartoons deemed worthy of exhibition by the jury will be exhibited at Kızılkule, which will be celebrating its 800th anniversary, as part of the 24th Alanya International Culture, Art and Tourism Festival, to be held between 22–24 May 2026, during which the award ceremony will also take place.

9. Award-winning artists who will attend the award ceremony are required to bring the original, wet-signed copies of their awarded cartoons with them. If an award-winning artist is unable to attend the award ceremony, the original, wet-signed copy of the relevant artwork must be sent by post no later than 20 May 2026, to the following address:

10. If a competition album is published featuring the exhibited cartoons, one free copy of the album will be sent to the postal addresses of the artists whose works are included. In the case of a digital album, the download link will be sent to the e-mail addresses of the artists whose works appear in the album. In addition, a “Certificate of Participation” will be sent digitally to the e-mail addresses of all contestants, and a “Finalist Certificate” will be sent digitally to the email addresses of all finalists whose works are selected for exhibition.

11. Submitted cartoons will not be returned to their creators. All cartoons submitted to the competition, whether awarded or not, may be used by Alanya Municipality and ALTAV for cultural purposes. While the copyright of the submitted works remains with the artist, the artist consents to the use of these works by ALTAV and Alanya Municipality in products such as souvenirs sold for public benefit.

12. By participating in the competition, all contestants are deemed to have accepted these rules and conditions in advance.
