3. Competition Objective:
We set out to reflect the rich culture of the Black Sea region, its unique characteristics, lifestyle, traditions, turbulent waves, lush green mountains, and the effortless yet heartfelt humor of daily life. We want to capture the people of this land, their language, emotions, stubbornness, joy, the kemençe (a traditional stringed instrument), history; in short, all aspects of "our people" in a single frame.
Therefore, the "Bizum Temel Cartoon Competition," to be held in Trabzon this year, is not just a drawing event; it is also a meeting point that will shed light on the cultural, artistic, musical, and historical journey of the Black Sea.
Sometimes, the Black Sea is the laughter of a joke lost in the mist of the highlands…
Sometimes, it's the melody of a kemençe (a type of stringed instrument) mingling with the morning breezes in a fisherman's shelter…
And sometimes, it's the subtle humor created with Temel's innocent but intelligent gaze…
For us, caricature is the way this region speaks; its satire, its jokes, its joy, and its slight rebellion.
This competition offers both young and established cartoonists the opportunity to reinterpret the Black Sea with their own pens.
Participants are expected to depict, from their own perspectives, the history-laden streets of Trabzon, the spirited soul of the Black Sea people, the exuberance of the horon dance, the forgotten stories of fishing boats amidst the waves, the hopes caught in the fishermen's nets, the vibrant colors of the highland migrations, and of course, the unforgettable humor of Bizum Temel.

5. Participation Requirements
Trabzon Ortahisar Municipality administrators, personnel involved in the competition, competition jury members, and their first-degree relatives are not eligible to participate.
Anyone from Turkey and abroad can participate in the competition.
The application form published on the Trabzon Ortahisar Municipality website must be filled out and sent to the email address trabzonortahisar@trabzonortahisar.bel.tr.
Applications must be sent to the email address trabzonortahisar@trabzonortahisar.bel.tr in PDF, TIFF, or JPEG format with a resolution of 300 Dpi.
Application forms must be completed in full.
The submitted work should not be smaller than A4 size (35cm x 50cm) and should include the name, surname, and contact information in PDF, TIFF, or JPEG format.
By signing this commitment form, the participant declares that the work submitted to the competition belongs to them.
The publication and copyright of the works submitted to us will belong to Trabzon Ortahisar Municipality.
The work submitted to the competition must not have previously won an award.
The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2026 at 17:00.
Works submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
