From the Editor..
The Gala is Coming Soon
In the editorial of the last September Bulletin we addressed the topic of the Humor Sapiens 2024 Contest that closed on the 10th of that month.
Well, the days passed in the midst of the reception of works (the last moments are the favorite moments for all of us to send the works. Why is a mystery, but it is so). In the last 10 days, almost a third of the total number of works arrived, after 6 months of the admission period being open.
But the above was a detail. The most impressive thing for us was that final number of works: 691 created by 351 artists from 65 countries!
For being our first International Competition, the call exceeded expectations.
So quantitatively we believe that it has been a success. But qualitatively too. It will be publicly seen in the Digital Catalog that we will display on our site. Magnificent works that address the obligatory theme of the contest: “Technology and education”...

Visual humor: Pets and human beings
By Francisco Puñal Suárez
(Journalist, photographer, scholar and promoter of humor).
Pets, dogs and cats, are endless sources of inspiration for taking curious and humorous photos. These animals, so loved by many people, hold countless possibilities for taking indelible images. The history of photography proves this. Another interesting aspect is the personality of these pets and their relationship with their owners, who in many cases have developed such strong bonds that it is not surprising that they begin to resemble each other...

Oh, humor, oh humor | Is humor serious?
By Félix Caballero Wangüemert
(Writer, humorist and journalist).
Despite the fact that much has been written on the subject, there is still a great deal of confusion about what humour is. The most famous theorists and the professionals who make a living from it are unable to explain it. The proposed definitions are multiple, very diverse and sometimes contradictory. It is no wonder that the French writer Pierre Daninos called it “the Calvary of the definers”...

Tom Sharpe (England, 1928-2013) is one of the essential English comedians. His extensive novels have been adapted for television, theatre and film. Milestones in the History of Humor
Italian comedy
Review: Directors such as Dino Risi, Mario Monicelli, Ettore Scola or Pietro Germi, among others, created a special type of comedy, where they knew how to portray the reality of the country offering a tender, but also critical, look at society and its customs through laughter and with great importance in the script and acting above all. Its pillars were the comedians Mastroianni, Sordi, Tognazzi, Manfredi, Gassman, Monica Vitti and several others.
Date: From the mid-1950s to the beginning of the 1980s, comedies were produced that made up this cinematographic genre originating in Italy, with great international projection.
